Introducing Trish, Aimee and Family....

Back in 2019 the vision of Lauran Nelson was realised with the creation of a safe, engaging play centre for children under 5. Laura worked with Dave, an amazing local joiner who handbuilt her dream design, bringing the
magic to life for your little people with the opening of Family and Friends Play Centre, Prescot.

Throughout the following 3 years, not to mention the dreaded pandemic, Laura dedicated herself to providing a unique family hub where children were the priority and adults were not forgotten. By 2022 Laura was expecting her third child; in light of this happy news, she decided it was time to step away from the play centre (for the time being at least). Laura teamed with Aimee and Trish, loyal supporters and regular visitors to Family and Friends from the first day.

Our Lease Owners....

Trish and Aimee Symes were appointed Lease Owners of Family and Friends in February 2022. Embracing the family orientated environment, this mother and daughter team are responsible for the day to day running and management of the play centre; with a wealth of experience, a host of new ideas and their own exciting vision, Aimee and Trish are a very welcome addition to Family and Friends.

Together with her partner of almost 40 years, Trish has 7 children aged between 12 to 33. Familiar balancing a career in the property industry with a busy family life, Trish welcomes the challenge of running the play centre; the opening hours are a perfect fit for the school run for Trisha's 2 youngest sons. Being 'mum' has always been her primary role, being home and available to her children her priority.

With all her children living within a few miles and the addition of 10 grand-children to date, family continues to be a piviotal part of Trisha's life. She genreously supports her own children with child care; there's a roast at Mum's every Sunday; and at Christmas Trish cooks for 24!

Trisha loves cooking an baking; comfortable with serving for large numbers, you will find Trish happiest in our Family and Friends kitchen.

Aimee with Jacques and Emmie

Aimee lives with her partner of 16 years, Dean, and their children, Jacques, age 4 and Emmie, almost 2. A professional nanny for 13 years, Aimee worked with a variety of high profile families; she travelled the world and enjoyed the lifestyle but with the arrival of her own children, nannying was not conducive to family life.

Aimee wanted her children to benefit from the same security of having Mum at home she had enjoyed. Deciding it was time to do somethings for herself, Aimee considered opening a children's nursery but hadn't been brave enough to take the plunge.

At just the right time the family's favourite play centre (that's us!) became available. Aimee and her mum had been regular visitors and the children loved it. It's less than half a mile from home, child friendly and all the family get to work together, perfect!
