Laura Nelson, Founder of Family and Friends Play Centre

Laura's story began just over 10 years ago when 2 little blue lines saw her driving her dream Audi TT back to the showroom after just 3 weeks, replacing it with a family friendly model!

Laura did all the usual first pregnancy things; read the books; attended the classes; met a lovely bunch of "mum to be" friends. Life changed forever with the arrival of Lydia in 2015, shortly followed 2 years later by Sophia. 

The 'new mum friends'  kept regular contact; seeking out the best family friendly places with decent coffee; Laura says 'where 1 went, we all went, that's what mum friends do; we were a little pack!' 

Like many families, Laura and her husband Anthony, juggled family life with long work hours but Laura wanted to be present in the life of her girls; home for breakfast; in time for bed; at their school plays; or simply at the school gate. Quality of life was important, Laura wanted her children to know the security she had experienced.

For 6 years we have enjoyed a whole generation of new babies, now headed off to school; we are proud to say Family and Friends continues to be Prescot's premier family play and party venue.

Whilst Laura focused on her growing family and furthered her professional career over the last 4 years, now, in 2026 Laura is returning to take the reins, joined by some familiar faces. 

On February 3rd we will say goodbye to Alex & Mike Leonard & their family, we are sure you will join us in wishing them well whatever they choose to do next.
