Laura Nelson, Founder of Family and Friends Play Centre
Laura's story began just over 10 years ago when 2 little blue lines saw her driving her dream Audi TT back to the showroom after just 3 weeks, replacing it with a family friendly model!
Laura did all the usual first pregnancy things; read the books; attended the classes; met a lovely bunch of "mum to be" friends. Life changed forever with the arrival of Lydia in 2015, shortly followed 2 years later by Sophia.
The 'new mum friends' kept regular contact; seeking out the best family friendly places with decent coffee; Laura says 'where 1 went, we all went, that's what mum friends do; we were a little pack!'
Like many families, Laura and her husband Anthony, juggled family life with long work hours but Laura wanted to be present in the life of her girls; home for breakfast; in time for bed; at their school plays; or simply at the school gate. Quality of life was important, Laura wanted her children to know the security she had experienced.
Buying a Gospel Hall!
It was Spring 2019 when Laura spotted the old church hall for sale in Prescot, it would make the perfect play centre. The need for total
restoration didn't deter Laura, nor did having a demanding full time job or 2 children under age 4; she rolled up her sleeves and got stuck straight in, that's where our Family and Friends story starts....

The design is entirely bespoke; whilst wanting a clean, fresh, modern playroom, Laura was mindful of retaining the beautiful traditional features of our old gospel hall.
